Well, it is time for another soak test with some of the new inks that have been recently purchased. This time most of my pens are filled with blue inks of one sort or another. Here is the list:
Noodler’s Blue Black (rated Near Bulletproof by Noodler’s)
Diamine Prussian Blue
Noodler’s Legal Lapis (A Pendemonium.com exclusive, rated Bulletproof by Noodler’s)
Noodler’s Black (rated Bulletproof by Noodler’s)
Waterman Blue Black
Waterman Florida Blue
Noodler’s Blue
Here is the "Before" scan of the inks written out on a clean white grid paper. For what it's worth these colours look fairly accurate on my monitor.

And then the paper was sliced vertically the length of the page...

The right hand half of the paper was submerged in a sink of water...

And left to soak for about 15 minutes. Here is a picture showing the blue in the Noodler’s Blue Black floating off the page...

After letting the page dry it was taped back together and scanned once more.

The Waterman inks faired worse, almost disappearing from the page. The Noodler’s bulletproof and near bulletproof inks did excellently, as expected. The Diamine surprised me; it did wash out some but is still perfectly legible. I love the Diamine Prussian Blue; it has good flow, is an excellent colour for me and now shows that it will survive a soaking. As if anything I write needs to survive a soaking.
Enjoy, Rick
